Lion Lodge was consecrated in 1990 by members and ex-members of Lions Clubs International and initially all new members came via the Lions Organization. In recent years, despite its origins, it has accepted and welcomed any suitable candidates for membership of the Lodge. It is a small friendly Lodge where new members soon get to know the other brethren and are made to feel welcome.
There are five meetings a year, held on a Friday, with meetings at different masonic venues in the eastern part of the county and a regular Lodge of Instruction to help and encourage brethren who wish to progress through the various Lodge offices and become its Master.
At the September meeting, held at Great Yarmouth, our ladies and non-masonic guests, join the brethren in the temple for a talk by a guest speaker. At the following meal, presentations are made to local charities.
We welcome masonic guests to our meetings and to dine with us and usually entertain a good many. The Lodge also has a Ladies Night with dinner and dancing, a summer barbecue and other family events to all of which wives, partners, family and friends are invited.
